4 Flowers 1 Bug

At 4 Flowers 1 Bug, we do not see games as collections of isolated parts. Story, mechanics, visual direction, characters, and player decisions are different sides of the same experience.

We do not believe a story has to exist only in dialogue or cutscenes. A choice made by the player, the response of a system, or even a simple gameplay mechanic can carry narrative meaning. Instead of separating narrative from gameplay, we shape them together throughout development.

What began as a habit of making games together through game jams has grown into longer-form projects. When a game demands it, we also build the tools and systems we need to create it rather than limiting the project to what already exists.

Each project can have a different world, structure, and way of telling its story. What remains constant is simple: we have stories to tell, and we want to turn them into experiences players can actually live through.

Story Lives in Play

We do not separate story from play. Mechanics, choices, and systems should be part of the narrative too.

Systems Have Meaning

We design mechanics not simply to function, but to serve the experience the game is trying to create.

Build What the Game Needs

Rather than forcing ready-made answers, we build the tools, systems, and workflows a game needs when necessary.
